# What is HEX

> HEX is a time-locked on-chain CD. Stake 1 to 5,555 days, mint T-Shares, take early or late penalties if you leave the bargain. pHEX and eHEX are not interchangeable. No APY. No price promise.

HEX is a time-locked certificate of deposit on-chain. You lock HEX for 1 to 5,555 days, mint T-Shares, and later end the stake to receive principal plus yield minted by the contract. 1 HEX = 100,000,000 Hearts. Longer Pays Better and Bigger Pays Better increase shares. Inflation is capped at 3.69% per 364 days, paid to stakers. HEXPLS does not promise APY or price.

1 HEX = 100,000,000 Hearts (8 decimals). T-Share ladder: 1 T-Share = 1,000 B-Shares = 1,000,000 M-Shares.

Longer Pays Better (up to +200% share bonus) and Bigger Pays Better (up to +10% on the first 150M HEX). Inflation is capped at 3.69% per 364 days, paid to stakers.

End early and a penalty — half the term of payout-days, minimum 90 — hits you. End more than 14 days late and 1/700 of the return burns per extra day. Penalties flow to good stakers. HEXPLS previews this before you sign.

After the 13 May 2023 PulseChain fork, HEX exists as eHEX (Ethereum) and pHEX (PulseChain). Same logic. Same contract address 0x2b591e99afe9f32eaa6214f7b7629768c40eeb39. Different liquidity. Different gas. Always label the chain.

## Questions people actually ask

### What does 5555 days mean in HEX?

5,555 days is the maximum HEX stake length, about 15 years. 30 days is a test drive. Both are valid. Longer Pays Better increases T-Shares up to a 200% share bonus, capped at 3,640 extra days.

### What are HEX T-Shares?

T-Shares are the units that earn HEX stake yield. 1 T-Share = 1,000 B-Shares = 1,000,000 M-Shares. You mint T-Shares when you start a stake. More T-Shares means a larger share of each day's minted payout. T-Shares are not a price forecast.

### What is the difference between pHEX and eHEX?

After the 13 May 2023 PulseChain fork, HEX exists as eHEX on Ethereum and pHEX on PulseChain. They share contract address 0x2b591e99afe9f32eaa6214f7b7629768c40eeb39 and the same staking logic. They do not share liquidity or gas. Bridging HEX later creates different wrapped tokens. They are not interchangeable.
